FMCSA Revokes Three ELDs; Paper Logs Required During Transition

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has officially removed three electronic logging devices (ELDs) from its list of approved devices as of September 4, 2025. These devices were found to be non-compliant with federal technical specifications.

The following ELDs have been revoked:

  • TT ELD PT30
    Model Number: ARN752
    ELD Identifier: CZGS10
    ELD Provider: TT ELD Inc

  • ELOG42
    Model Number: ERS
    ELD Identifier: ERS156
    ELD Provider: Leko Inc

  • RENAISSANCE ELD
    Model Number: RNSSNC
    ELD Identifier: RNS592
    ELD Provider: Renaissance ELD

Immediate Action Required for Truckers and Carriers

Motor carriers currently using these revoked ELDs must immediately discontinue their use and transition to either paper logs or another FMCSA-registered ELD to maintain hours-of-service (HOS) compliance.

Carriers have until November 3, 2025, to replace these devices with compliant alternatives. Failure to do so by the deadline will result in enforcement action.

Enforcement Timeline and Guidance

Before November 3, 2025:
Law enforcement officers are advised not to issue citations for “No record of duty status” or “Failing to use a registered ELD” if the driver is using one of the three revoked devices. Drivers should be prepared to present paper logs or other acceptable methods to document HOS compliance.

After November 3, 2025:
Any motor carrier still using one of the revoked ELDs will be considered non-compliant and subject to full enforcement, including citations and being placed out-of-service.

Potential for Reinstatement

FMCSA has stated that if the ELD providers address all identified deficiencies, their devices may be reinstated to the registered list. However, motor carriers are strongly urged to take proactive steps now to avoid disruptions and penalties.
